Order of Lions of Jerusalem

History of the Order

The beginnings of the Order go back to the temple built during the reign of King Solomon, around 960 BCE. During its construction, Solomon also established an educational institution on one side of the sanctuary for children whose parents came to pray. Over time, children could learn various sciences in the “temple school”, such as reading, mathematics, and geography.

During the first destruction of the sanctuary in 586 BCE, by the Neo-Babylonian armies, the center survived, but not the second, ordered by Roman Emperor Titus, which was completely destroyed.
Thereafter, education was transferred to the Jewish diaspora (galut in Hebrew), and although the central location ceased, the Order founded by King Solomon continued to exist.

Records indicate that the learned magistri maintained contact and passed on their knowledge to their successors.

In modern times, the Order has become more open: today, anyone can join regardless of religion or ethnicity. Still, the practice remains that members pass on their knowledge to talented young people. The scope of the Order's activities has expanded to include collecting and distributing donations.

Activities of the Order

Education, Talent Discovery
Our main focus is education, and we aim to recruit those who excel in their fields.

For us, not only knowledge but the method of passing it on is essential. Therefore, in addition to achievements, pedagogical skills are also emphasized to ensure high-quality education.

Our training is free for outstandingly talented or underprivileged youth.

Currently, we offer economic and theological training, as well as acting, dance, and vocal courses. We teach several martial arts and languages, including Russian, English, German, and French. As our Order grows, we aim to offer even more subjects and training.

Support and Aid
While education is our primary activity, we also strive to help those in need because we believe that while we may not change the world, we must try.

The Order supports and assists several partner organizations. In recent years, we have visited multiple children's homes, especially during Christmas. One of our members regularly performs at charity events for disadvantaged children.
Since we observed that most gifts are given during Christmas, we decided to repeat these donations quarterly—and we’ve kept this promise.

Besides children’s homes, we maintain contact with several schools to provide snacks to needy students. We collaborate with other donors to organize and deliver such efforts.
We also support families in need by distributing food, clothing, and furniture and expanding our network to involve more charitable groups.
